“So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea. And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.” Acts 11:29-30

CFU Mission Statement: At the request of the Ukrainian Church and our national partners, to provide personal and humanitarian aid from the hands of churches in the U.S. to the hands of churches and displaced communities in Ukraine.

Grace Presbyterian Church is again partnering with Crates For Ukraine (CFU), an MTW/PCA Crisis Response Initiative. The MTW Lviv team, led by Grace Mission Partner Doug Shepherd, is receiving and sending aid in connection with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ukraine (EPCU) to the neediest communities across war-torn Ukraine. MTW hopes to accompany this aid with personal engagement and sowing the seeds of long-term gospel community.

  • January 9th-31st: Collect items and store @ GPC
  • Feb 2nd-Feb 4th: Assemble Crates
  • Feb. 9: Deliver Crates to Dallas for transport to Ukraine

Supply lists (detailed list here) have been updated and revised to include some winter supplies and other items requested by the Ukrainian Church. It is critical that you only include items on these lists. Grace will be collecting supplies until January 31. You can bring supplies on Sunday, crates will be in the foyer, or to the church office, 8:00am-3:00pm M-F. More information will be coming on how and when you can help sort supplies and pack crates.

The key difference for the Winter CFU Initiative is that couriers no longer need to fly crates to Poland. All crates will be delivered to either Dallas or Chattanooga. Two partner shipping companies are helping collect, palletize, fly and deliver aid to Lviv. The cost to palletize crates and ship them to Lviv is being donated and/or covered by others. Two international companies are donating their costs to help and are providing their services at no cost to MTW.

MTW Ukraine covers the warehouse costs in Lviv and the costs to deliver aid throughout Ukraine. The distribution of aid in Ukraine is overseen by our Ukrainian pastors and Ukrainian believing community that our MTW teams have had trusted partnerships and relationships for over 30 years. They do a regular assessment of those who are in most need and how to get aid to them.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for God to end the war in Ukraine, grow His Church and give great faith to His people during this time of suffering.
  • Pray for a great partnership and relationship with our partner shipping companies - BC Williams and Flexport. Pray for Flexport to transport all crates for free. Praise the Lord for these companies and for the resources they have donated.
  • Pray for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ukraine as they receive aid, distribute aid and minister to those in need. May the Lord use CFU to create pathways for the Gospel and the formation of new Gospel communities.
